What a fantastic day we had at Baxter Centre! The first activity we played was a "Prey and Predator" game. We were divided into herbivores, omnivores and carnivores. We even had a "disease", a "natural disaster", and a "hunter". We learned how animals survive in their habitats and the skills of a predator. At first the students (animals), ran around and were screaming. They quickly realized that predators can easily find them by following the sounds. They became more quiet, crouched and hid behind trees and bushes, and did not all hang out together in one spot!
In the afternoon we used technology, the outdoors, and physical activity together. We got an introduction to GPS technology and how it can be used along with a compass in navigation to find a specific area.
