| On October 17th our class took a field trip to learn more about automotive repair shops. The children had come up with various questions before going to the shop and had to pay close attention when learning about the cars. We learned how they fix and place tires on a vehicle, what the under side of a car looks like and some parts of the engine. We had also come across some new words like hoist and torque. When we got back to the classroom we looked over our questions and answers and came up with a word wall. Some of the children have now taken what they have learnt and incorporated into their play. The students are now pretending to fill their tires with air with the same 'machine' that Ryan had used in the shop. A big thank you to to our parent volunteers, who came with us on our trip and to Canadian Tire for inviting us to the automotive shop. It was a big success! |
